Lots of people are simply buying lcd panels and ohp's to make an lcd projector? I was wondering what the quality is like. Personally I enjoy building one from scratch, but if you want somthing fast, will a ohp setup be comparable? I did see some pictures, but they did not seem that good...
I wish i got a digital camera.
Word doesn't justify pix, but I'll try.
So far, i tried to built my own projector with a regular 250w MH. It was a disaster experiment only because i don't have the proper reflector and some other "stuff" 🙄 . Anyway, the image i got from was very very poor, the only definite good thing was the color temperature was perfect . So i switched back to using my Elmo L3550 (3k lumen). This OHP was only bright enought for only 40" or less, even at that size, i was still having problem play Halo. It just wasn't bright enought. Also the OHP lamp color temp is around 3k, so the picture tend to exaggerate the warm color, making the picture some what reddish (not really noticeable).
Now i got a 7k Lumens OHP, brightness is seem to be like a minor issues (still an issues for 100 inch). The problem is the 6k color temp.
