Is mclk fs the same for all formats in a multiformat player?

The question is at the bottom, but here is the story. . .

I need some clarification on this link here.

I wanted to do spdif outputs x 3 from a dvd player to separate dacs for my HT. The guy selling this board has gone through a lot of trouble to output all formats (sacd, dvda, etc) of a universal player and his board looks great and has some nice upgrades. I only need to output dvd. I found a cheaper version w/o all the bells and whistles but it only accepts a 256 fs mclk. It was built for the purpose of outputting from an mp3 player.

I also have a universal player- samsung hd480- it uses a zoran decoder but I cant find a data sheet to determine the mclk. It uses a 27mhz crystal. The dac that follows is a DSD1608. It accepts many mclk rates so that does not help.

Does this dac support so many rates because the mclk changes with each format? It must if that is the design issue he had?

Does anyone know at what mclk fs dvd usually runs at that I can make a simpler/cheaper spdif transmitter based on one of the TI dits? If I had a scope, I would just measure it. but I don't.

Thanks.
