Is fixing microphonics as simple as replacing tubes?

Two of the 6DJ8 driver tubes in my ARC SP10 generate a loud tone in speakers if tapped with a fingernail. Tubes are of unknown age. Should I just replace them with a new pair of matched, low-microphonics and tubes?

Replacing tubes sensitive from fingersnapping is one method. Another is to stop snapping them.

There are rubber mount sockets and silicone rings applied on the tubes, that can reduce microphonics. Tube rolling is also an option.

I figured if my fingers could vibrate them, loud music could also vibrate them.

There are silicone rings, they help. I should get more. Some were worn out.

Tubes are microphonic in general.

Im more use to tubes in high vibration conditions
or portable applications.
So the spacers inside get loose over time so it is a very
sharp metal ping ! when you tap the tube.

And yes at that point, tube gets replaced.
No way to fix the loose parts inside.

Just what im use too, any tube can make little thump thump
or tap tap sound.
It is more a hard metallic ping or rattle when
the spacers are loose or damaged. More common in portable
stuff.

Do not put your tube amplifiers on the loudspeaker cabinet.
Use a medium length speaker cable so the amplifiers are not real close to your loudspeakers.

And do not put your turntable on the loudspeaker cabinet.

Yes. These tubes are microphonic. The best is to replace them - assuming there's no particular vibration source close.
