Don't sure what you mean - but e.g. - Nakamichi's power amps are quite often on ebay ... I think the model is 5p or something like that ...
The Nakamichi designs were really nice. I used to do warranty on them. I'd like to add a CA-7II and PA-7II to my collection. Only problem is I'm out of $$$$

In another thread I read that sometimes companies license a circuit, but the original designer doesn't have a direct hand in the design of a product. Sometimes he does a design , but the company decides on the components, etc. So, designers have sometimes more and sometimes less involvement in a product.
