I am wondering if anyone here knows if a 7.5 inch, 500mm focal length lens will work for projection. The lens is plano convex. I searched the forums and surprsingly I cant find much on focal lengths of lenses. I intend on using this lens with a 11.25in fresnel from a OHP. If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.
A 500 mm focal length seems quite long which means the projection screen must be further away. However maybe with the huge diameter, it does not matter. I'm usign a F=150mm,D=60mm lens which worked ok in the first trial last night. The shorter the focal length, the higher the magnification over distance. By the way the surplusshed.com is definately a good place to buy components. Tried it out first time some weeks ago and found service friendly and delivery fast.
