Here's the simplest option in order to not interfer with the circuit or take a deep dive in the IRS2092 details, preamp etc.

I agree on that one. And that you prefer the relay on the output, not between pre-amp and power amp. I would suggest to try and find the smallest value for the 470u capacitor and then go up one value. To make sure the relay opens as soon as possible.

And I think the AC can be taken off the transformer for the pre-amp. On the AC side and still using your rectifier. But that is a detail, nice to have.
