Neither do I but it depends a lot on how the component leadout wires are soldered to the lugs underneath and of course how play is left at the socket's top side as well.

The USSR novals should make for a very snug fit though.

Yeah. But if there's play in the sockets, there will always be some play after the tube's inserted.

Still think I'll have some cork gaskets made in order to take up the play of the pins. I'll let you know when I do if you'd like to try them.
