Are the IRFP240s becoming scarce now? I couldn't find them on mouser or anywhere else "reputable." Any suggestions for where to get these? Maybe my mouser search was bad? Or maybe someone has had good luck with a particular ebay seller? I'm looking to get quite a few so I can match them myself.

Ah, ok. Not a great search engine, is it?! Thanks!
While I'm on the topic... Any guidance on what number you need to purchase to get good matches? Let's say you need to match 4 closely. You need to buy... 20?
Similar question on the IRF9610s although I would guess the answer would be about the same.

Depends upon how closely you want them to match -- if you purchase a tube you should get enough devices for 2x 4 sets +/- 0.02V.
I found that within a tube, when you match for Vgs the transconductances generally line up pretty well.

I've used these as an alternative to the irfp240, they work pretty well. You should have no problem matching 4pcs within a tube, I'd be skeptical purchasing semis from ebay; matched or otherwise.

You need matches only for the ones in parallel. Most of the time 0.1V
at the operating point is good enough, and you can probably get 5 groups of
4 out of a tube.

This would be groups of 4 in parallel. For 8 groups I'm guessing I can probably get away with 50-75. But there is probably a price break at 100 so maybe I'll just get extra and provide a service to some folks here to give back a little.
Thanks for the guidance!

Just bought 50 of them
Farnell 2.26 pound sterling 1-25 units and 2.28 for 25 to 100 units (Vishay)
Conrad electronic 1.17 each, 0.95 for 25 and 0.89 for 50 ( IR )
Guess were I go them from ?

I was an extra 5 pounds for the postage.
If that is the actual item on the picture I would worry
Good price but 1.17 pound sterling is 1.364 euro (just checked)

Not that I would have noticed; are they no longer available from Digikey?
RS have got them too.
I bought 50 on E-Bay for about £25 I seem to recall. The supplier had something to do with JCB in his username.

I have seen IRFP9240/IRFP240 made by Siliconix ( Vishay-Siliconix?) in the market. Not seen often.
Mouser Part Numbers - they have plenty.
