Where can I get at least 2 IRFP044's in the Netherlands/Europe?
I 've got 4 so far but need 6 for stereo Zen V4's.
I thought Farnell would have them but instead they only have 044N's in stock.

An other possibility is http://www.reichelt.de
The irfp044n is only €1,35 🙂
The only drawback is that you have to make an order of >€50 (for Dutch and other non-german customers).
You can also try http://www.rs-components.com but they only deliver to companies 🙁

RS Components also sell to individuals. I bougth some stuff from them some time ago. But I think they do not have IRF044's.

The dutch division of RS wouldn't deliver to me, so it depends on the country where you live...
Hello Nelson! could you please make a statement if there is s significant difference between irfp 044 and irfp 044n and if it is so, which difference? Is irfp240 preferable to irfp 044n ?? thank You, Till

Should I use 3 of the same in one amp section?
Or can I combine 2 044's with one 044N
Do not mix mosfet types when in parallel. Also, the 'n' devices have a smaller die so usually have lower dissipation ability.
So shopping for irfp044's it is...
Spoerlo.com has them in stock and a sales devision in the Netherlands. At the moment I'm hoping they are willing to sell me a small batch

I seem to recall using the N's recently, and I didn't notice
any difficulties. For the supply regulator and the current
source it is not nearly as important, and I often use
IRFP240's there because I have a warehouse full of them.

i found a couple (4) of irfp044's in a fan motor in a renault laguna when it was broken. my father works in the car buisness zo he brought me those broken motors.
I only have a stock of 044's, but if we go by the data sheets,
it appears that the 044N has lower capacitance and wattage.
Probably has a smaller die.
This doesn't tell the whole story, but there is no reason to
think they won't work fine, maybe better.
If you parallel them, match the Vgs at the idle current, and
use Source resistance to equalize current sharing.
