All,
The IRF(9)610 possibly is/are going obsolete, and a replacement part will be needed (by many I think). Any mosfet to replace these should be,
Even if these devices do not go obsolete (see: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/parts/244602-irf-9-610-a.html#post3677362) then it would be nice to find 'more compatible'-devices (like both N and P 50Watts, or both 20Watts at a lower Ciss),
P and N types available
Id 1.5A
Vds 200V
Vgs 2 to 4V
Qg 11nC or less
Ciss less than 200pF
Pd 20Watt(Min P-channel)
Edit: TO-220 (added)

The PBF (lead free) versions of both are available, plentiful and inexpensive. I have not found any information regarding the end-of-life of these MOSFETs.

Ooeps... did I overlook that? Maybe I panicked. This, it going obsolete, was told to me by a friend, I checked and found versions being discontinued, and my conclusion was ... (see above) 😕 😱 😱

At one time I believe it was produced by several manufacturers, but it looks like Vishay is the only manufacturer making the part today. This suggests it may be discontinued in the near future, so it is probably wise to start looking for a substitute.

Any ideas 🙂
Also it would be nice to have a 'more complementary' pair, like; both being 35 to 50 Watts (the IRF9610 is only 20 Watts).
Frans.
Hi Frans,
Fairchild has for replacement of the 9610.
FQP3P20 PDF Datasheet P-Channel QFET® MOSFET -200V, -2.8A, 2.7?
The 610 could be substituted with the FQP3N30 I think.
These look more complementary than the 610/9610!
What do you think?

Not bad at all 🙂 I really do like the fact that it is a 50 Watt device, and that Ciss is about the same as the 9610. Maybe we can improve a bit, maybe there is a 40Watt(or 30W) device with even lower Ciss (and other C's). I will have a look at the other Fairchild products.
I'm talking to myself here, please jump in if you have any suggestion(s) 🙂 Or maybe you know some devices that may be improvements (I am thinking of 20Watt devices with lower a Ciss).

Found something at NTE Electronics, Ciss is a bit high 400pF but 40Watt for N amd P-channel is good. http://www.nteinc.com/specs/2300to2399/pdf/nte2380.pdf
Still I would rate this one as less compatible 🙁

Toshiba, I could find nothing 🙁
