Anybody had any luck trying to replace these little monsters?
I normally just pass on repairing these amps but here lately I have had a lot of good long time customers begging me to repair them since nobody else will touch them ether.
I have a few Ideas but thought I would ask first considering all the combined experience on this forum.
My main concern is,that even if there is a way,how reliable would the amp be.
Of course Im referring to the Alpines.

in my specific case have to use IRF540N to fix one alpine, because one year ago digikey didn't have on stock, the amp still running ok. but the work looks like crap =(

Yes,that is the style.The last one I got uses an IR6665 which I think is even smaller.It is sandwiched between the board and heatsink with an extra small piece of aluminum and thermal heat pad.
I cant even imagine how you managed to fit a 220 case in there.That must have taken some major time and work.
