Introduction

I live in a cottage in the country near Waterloo, ON , Canada as well. I turned my entire basement into an audio room...yes and there is a TV there but it is more audio than video. Spent all last summer renovating it...laminate oak plank flooring and a monster of a disco ball ...yes complete with lights etc. ...took ballroom dancing lessons while in University...there are those nights ...when one mirrors Kevin Bacon in Footloose and swings like the Swing Kids.

Most of my equipment came from lawn sales, EBay and occationally new. I have a Technics 1400 MKII turntable connected to a DBX 3X Series III dynamic range expander with impact restoration to a Pioneer Elite VSX 36 TX surround receiver. I have collected about 3000 Lp's from lawn sales. I also have a vintage Pioneer TX 9800 analog tuner connected to a high APS 13 antenna. I record FM direct analog onto a Pioneer Elite PDR-W37 CD recorder and a shortly marketed Pioneer Elite CT-O7D cassette player.

The Pioneer Elite Receiver has front, center, mid surround and rear surround "outs" and these are driven by

Vintage Phase Linear 400 2 x 200 watts RMS driving a pair of Paradigm Studio 100 Monitors speakers

Vinatge Sansui QRX 9001 QS Quad 4 x 60 RMS or 2 x 125 RMS driving a pair of vinatge Pioneer HPM 150's ( beautiful speakers )

Pioneer SX 1010 2 X 125 RMS driving a vintage pair of Monitor Audio II's

to name a few. You get the picture.
