So I used configuration options in a desktop shortcut that I created for the executable in the c:\valvalyzer folder. I essentially overrode my default display scaling but unfortunately the minimum is 100%. It's fully functional except for my display resolution issue. (needs display with1200 vertical pixels to display correctly)

Note that there is no copy of Valvalyzer.ico (desktop icon) in the directory with the executable - I got it out of the updater directory. I suspect the path problems are specific to W11, but no way to test.

Some GPU apparently allow you to create a virtual monitor with higher resolution, but my GPU does not support this option. I was hoping. Note that graphics scaling to less than 100% is not supported in W10 or W11 OS.

The .NET Frameworks installation on my (older) workstation took ages, so I cancelled this installation, as I don't want unneccesary overhead on this machine when using the software I dedicated this workstation to. I'll check on my Win11 laptop again soon.

Hi, a small usability issue: on the "Set up a free license" screen: username is mandatory, everything else is optional. So I entered nothing, and, of course, I can't log in. Please delete my username (Zung) so I can try again. Thx.

@kevinkr, In order to address your concern about crafting Valvalyzer to present properly on any screen resolution, I have dreaded this challenge since day-1. But today I was rewarded with amazing elation, when I got this response about this problem from Copilot - "You don’t have to rip WinForms out and rewrite everything in WPF to get basic per-screen or per-resolution scaling. You can fold a small amount of plumbing into your existing Forms code". It gave me a toolbox of incredible techniques that I will surely apply. So, your comment about ready-for-prime-time couldn't be more relevant.

@Zung I deleted your account so you can start over. Please "Download Valvalyzer" from my website to get a fresh copy of the Valvalyzer Updater. I have incorporated the recommended code changes in order to support Windows 11 computers (in theory). So, disregard the warning on the download page if you have a Windows 11 computer. Run the Updater to get a new set of application files, and the Updater will launch the application in an "elevated" state which Windows 11 requires. You may see some debug messages, and it may fail altogether. Please report what you see, especially if you see issues. Unfortunately, I don't own a Windows 11 computer at this time but I will have one soon for testing. For now, I ask your indulgence in helping me to test the installation mechanics. Thank you so much.

Just installed 3.2.2873 on my W11 22H2, no issue, except the resolution, like most everybody else.
Only my Surface can do 1200p+, but it's a fanless tablet running the frontend to my music library and stays in the living room.
All my other PC/laptops are the 1080 type, so I look forward to your upcoming "low end" version!

Hi Jim,
I am very interested in your program but even now I tried again, after having deleted the old installation, but unfortunately without success. I always remain at the same point and then there is the crash.
This with W11 24H2 and framework 4.8.1 (the run time not the developer pack)
Many thanks again for your help, anyway I have no problems to wait the solution

I wonder what's going on with your setup. I just read Zung had no issues installing using W11 22H2, and kevinkr even posted screen shots of my program, although he had to double-click the C:\Valvalyzer\Distribution folder executable to get it to run. When you say "crash", can you be more descriptive of the event you are seeing? Does the Updater just suddenly close? That would be very useful to me. In any event, I'll bet you have files in C:\Valvalyzer\Distribution and you can double-click Valvalyzer3rdEdition.exe as a backdoor way of launching the application.

When I launch V updater the application works for about 50 seconds, then the message " Starting Valvalyzer, please wait " the Update suddenly close.

I make double click on Valvalyzer3rdEdition.exe but nothing happens. It's actually weird, Zung and KevinKr installed it while horneydude seems to have the same problem as me

Same here, still. Tried with updater 1.1 after removing 1.0, but I left the downloaded previous files. The updater starts to update, when the progress bar is finished, the bar starts again at the beginning, after that Valvalizer tries to start but after 10 seconds it just disappears without a trace in the Task Manager.
