6SN7-6550 single end power amp was made by Thomas.

We specially selected high end Jensen capacitors, 0.22uF/630V-pure copper foil aluminum tube, paper in oil with silver leadout, between 6SN7 and 6550. I can feel the smoothness, refinement and details in music which Jensen caps particularly performed.

Japanese Kiwame carbon film 2W resistors (green color) for audio were used into the audio section of the 6550/KT88 amplifier. The sound of Kiwame resistors tends to be sweet, smooth and detailed. Kiwame audio graded carbon film resistors have a lots of values available and are very good on tube amplifers.

This is the second 6550/KT88 single end power amplifier we made and sold in 2009. The circuit is new, single one 12AX7 as voltage amplifying stage and single one 12AU7 as cathode follower. The both triodes can supply enough power to 6550 or KT88 and achieve a strong dynamic performance for 12W under single end class A.

This is Twin Audio 3rd 6550/KT88 single end class A power amplifier which was made in 2009. The circuit is same as the 2nd one, single one 12AX7 as voltage amplifying stage and single one 12AU7 as cathode follower. The parts used on 3rd one was more audiophiled.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hi Thomas,

Which tube amplifier design of yours would suit driving 15ohms Rogers LS3/5a's? As you may be aware some EL34 or 84 pushpull designs (Leak or Radford) have been very popular partner for the LS3/5a.

Please advise or PM regarding your suggestions.

Thanks,
Dan
