Greetings from Western Australia: I have been messing with speakers, amplifiers, etc since the early 70's. I am currently setting up a system incorporating electrostatic panels from ER Audio, harking back to my early experiences hearing Quad Electrostatics belonging to the father's of girls I was dating.

Howdy from another Perth guy.
Surely you didn't date two seperate girls, both of whose fathers owned Quad Electrostatics! 🙂
In my teens here in Perth my mate's Dad had a high end system but all I remember was that he listened to reel to reel (not sure which one or the amp used) played through B&W DM6's. I was blown away by those speakers. So I sort of know what you're saying...formative years.
