Hi all you fanatics
New to this forum have surfed around it for a while and have just signed up
My first diy project was in 1976 it was a kit system from a company named foster 300 mm woofer horn mid and a pizeo tweeter plus adjustable l pads for mid and bass I still have them in my collection of stuff.
I have constructed sealed boxes fabricated from 6 mm aluminum plate they have 2 250 mm drivers and a 25 mm soft dome vifa tweeter the crossovers are acoustic research i then fabbed up some bookshelf boxes still with ali plate but these are vent 150 mm drivers and 19 mm soft dome vifas, great camping speakers .
My next project was towers in mtm format I did the design work from ray Alden’s book and built the xos my self I used some cheaper products from altronics
From there I purchased bass box pro and xo bundle have done a lot more reading and am starting to build a 7.1 home theater package using vifa ring rads and peerless drivers a 600 watt d class sub amp, at present I have a cabinet dude cutting the boxes on a cnc machine hope that they turn out ok. My old pioneer vsx d901s amp will get the flick and probably go down the denon road.
There seems like a lot of good diy amps you fellas are playing with may have a go at that when all this other stuff is finished
Love music a lot! Suppose you would have to after doing all the speaker stuff
I also built my own 400 liter full mash brewery that also takes up a lot of time
Nothing bets a good brew and your favorite album.
I will post some photos of the build as it unfolds
Goodwill to all
Speedie
