I am new to your form and many years absent from DIY audio but with renewed interest in this rewarding endevour.
A lot has changed since I was doing this in the late nineteen seventies and early eighties.
To get started I made a battery powered gainclone headphone amp (RJM) last night. It worked surprizingly well and drove my AKG 240 headphones quite nicely. I bought some exotic components and planed to test various components to test my listening skills. I have decent (ADCOM, NAD, B&W) home audio units but the preamp is on its last legs and have been considering DIYing a new preamp.
That is about all. I live in the states in Ohio and also do digital camera astrophotography. Here is my web page:
