As a seller on E-bay, I have never shipped overseas without using the GSP, before that I stated US addresses only in my auctions, I did mail some packages to the buyers shipping company in the US that were forwarded. Without the GSP, I wouldn't ship overseas at all.Too many hassles.
Recently I shipped a few odd parts to someone in Canada(the parts were free), and it cost 27.00? for a less than a pound, very expensive.

A friend and I have both had tubes taken by GSP.
I don’t buy if seller won’t offer other methods.
Seller did not even want to discuss other options really was very matter of fact, end conversation. Didn’t believe GSP was taking goods.

No more tube purchase if shipped through GSP, confiscated even though refunded, waste of time.
Tubes cannnot be shipped trough GSP anymore, for this item there is no choice. If the seller lists the tubes as USA or GSP only, the only way to get them is trough a reshipper.
For other electronic devices, I have bought from sellers that have choosen GSP, and from others that shipped with USPS and other carriers. GSP is more espensive for some items and less for others. It is fast but tracking is not accurate and the route is convoluted: the item usually lands in UK then is handed over to another carrier and finally to the domestic one. A major drawback is the lack of any declaration of the import duties paid. The GSP receipt is not fiscally recognized as EU custom duty payment. Therefore, as a company, I need to pay all the custom duties and VAT again. On the last shipment it was in excess of 500 EUR. I warned the seller beforehand and proposed a different delivery method with a regular carrier, but it just discounted the item and shipped it with GSP anyway. I can understand this because USA sellers that aren't accustomed with oversea expeditions quirks have a high risk to get a paypal chargeback. I had expeditions delayed for months at the customs due to improper declarations. This is easy to sort out with minimal costs involved: usually 11 EUR with USPS to my destination, far less than any express carrier customs processing fee, that will be charged anyway. There is only a sizeable delay to tough out, but a impatient/unprepared/shady buyer may just open a chargeback issue with ebay for non-delivery and get the money back at the expense of the seller.

I've done that but only with sellers from China. I once received a refund, and the package showed up 3 months later. I sent the seller their money. If only we were all honest.
I buy a lot of tubes through eBay and I'll avoid those listing using GSP. At-least on 4 separate occasions over a different time span of 6 months, all the shipment was blocked.
Nowadays, I stop bidding/buying on any tube listing that uses GSP.

Vacuum tubes are now banned from ebay GSP. This is a specific issue of the reshipper that is currently operating the GSP, no other carriers have this issue. I also had shipments confiscated by the GSP and payment refunded. If you see a listing on ebay.com related to tubes or anything that cointains vacuum tubes, and you really want it, contact the seller and arrange an alternate shipment method; or use a reshipping service. Shipping cost will be much higher. GSP was the cheapest option, sadly.
GSP took a lovely matched pair of new testing amperex E55L valves/tubes from me.
Sure, both I and the seller received a refund, but I was REALLY looking forward to these. Goodness knows where they are now (probably in a warehouse in Alaska). Such a pity.

I find it curious that people in the US might consider Canada to be "overseas".
Having GSP steal your purchase is not fun and it is an unfortunate reality.
I actually have an address in Canada where I can ship US items to using GSP. So far, GSP has not stolen any valves/tubes that I have sent there (but to be honest, I have only had two packages sent there so far). Nonetheless, some US sellers still consider Canada to be "overseas"...
I can see Hawaii and Guam being considered "overseas".

The UK is very expensive for pcb's too.
I either use JLCPCB or PCBWAY.
This is horrible news, in my country the Customs is part of the Federal Police so they threaten me by telegram and I was fined in 250% and was threatened to lawsuit at the IRS if I dont inform them in advance of the products Iam importing. Not a easy life here.
