Your cable would be better, if the open shield end had the options for Open, Closed or Capacitor Coupled.

It is rare that the shield NEEDs to be open at one end.

And better still if the shield connects to Chassis and not to Signal Return.

in fact, my cables can be customized, I only presented here the "standard" version.
My intention is to offer a high quality interconnect cable but at a low price. The cable I use here is a professional microphone cable (KLOTZ MY206) of high quality that have a lower capacitance and resitance, when compared to similar priced coax cables.
I didn't make extensive tests regarding the differences when the shield is open or not, I only used the similar construction as a few cable makers (I can remember for example that Meier builds some cables with this principle). The connector with the connected shield shall be plugged to the source side in order to improve the shielding properties, in theory. Some headphone amps are also wired internally with this principle of "shield connected on one side only" from the back plate to the pots on the front for example...
