I don't know whether people finds this too basic or directly off topic, but I thought that for those of us that are less than experts, theese interactive illustrations of the functionality of different semiconductors could be worth sharing:

I wish I had that when I started learning electronics. I suppose that even skilled practically, many people can benefit from this. It should be in permanent links -stuff like this can improve S/N ratio of the forum 🙂
