Anyway, today my amp decided to drop its left channel.
The amp in question is a Technics su-x977 (Old i know but it does have a really nice sound)
I'm hoping this is just a dry joint but i don't have time to inspect this just at the moment, and am hoping you guys might have some advice on what the cause could possibly be.
The fault seems to have appeared while there wasn't even any signal applied. The last time the amp was used last night it was working fine and then today the left channel was just dead.
The left channel still works through headphones though, so this leads me to believe the amp it self is still healthy and that this could just be a dry joint. However, all the left channel outputs on all speaker outputs are dead. Measuring the outputs with a multimeter they read 0 volts when a signal is applied, also they are completely open, ie reading zero when testing for resistance with the multimeter.
Any thoughts on what this could be if it proves not to be a dry joint?

Oh, also i should point out that this amplifier has no fuses on the output stage so this cannot be the explanation for the circuit being open.
Not to worry guys, the fault appears to have gone. After dismantling the unit and inspecting continuity i could not discover the source of the problem and the unit just suddenly started working normally. There was no sign of any dry joints either.
My diagnosis?
I put this down to the headphone jack as the output signal is looped through it, i believe the switching contact for the left channel had become jammed and/or dirty but have somehow now seated happily again.
