Inside the Rega Jupiter CD player

Greetings,

After one year of ownership my Rega Jupiter CD player suddenly went silent in the right channel. I had bought it used and it is past warranty anyways. Having searched for a schematics, and found none, the curiosity got the better of me and I opened it up. Here are some pics for the community to look at.

A couple of notes:

The big metal heat sink at the bottom is just for show. Nothing beside the transformer is bolted to it. The PCB rests on little plastic raisers as not to touch the metal.

The front PCB is shared with the REGA Planet 2000 CD player. Interesting little blurb on the PCB -

"This is a local CD player for local people and we will have no trouble here!!!"

I am not sure why the fuses? are stacked one on top of the other. To me it looks like it was modified by a third party but not sure. Maybe someone can tell me if this is indeed original. Looks sloppy to me.

Anyways, after checking it all out and re-soldering some joints, making sure everything is nice and snug, and putting it back together both channels are working!!! Please about that although not sure what caused the issue in the first place.

Also opened up my Rega Cursa 3 pre-amp just for curiosity's sake. Interesting poem on the PCB on the bottom right. Any ideas?

If memory serves there's no "and": "This is a local shop for local people. We'll have no trouble here." Very funny program, at least the first season...

Thanks for the photos. These top-loading Regas have been on my wish list for ages thanks in part to their red display which incorporates a 'track calendar,' as you just don't see that handy info display on other players anymore. But any time I look into their reliability, it seems there are signs not all is well, although it does look very accessible in there....?
