There are a few Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) projects described in this Forum.
Might be worth looking at them.
Might be worth looking at them.
it doesnt matter how bad it distorts if it puts out a decent voltage to make a speaker cone move i'll be happy and if it will turn on at 0.001 of a volt or less I'll be happy its not an audio amplifier for any clean signals at all.. just extremely high gain.. really really high gain.
What you're describing is called a comparator. Check out the LM311--100 dB in a cheap single package with just one external resistor! Cascade two of them and we're at 200 dB.
But the result is perhaps not what you wanted. I suggest you start with telling us what you're after...

Maybe it's something illegal so he won't tell us. It's easier to give advises if we know the purpose.
It won't be top secret and it won't (I'm 99.9999% sure) be illegal.
He's learning... just go with it 🙂

i want as much as 100 db gain or more...
not for audio.. just personal expiriments..
There are a bunch of gear-heads, experimenters, and mad scientist types on these forums.
Tells us what you are really doing and I sure we can help.
When he says he is just experimenting, I think that is precisely what he means. I used to play around with circuits when I was about 13-14 years old. I now know why many of them didn't work, but some worked quite well. At the time I probably would not have understood the correct explanation, so I just played.
Hi,
There is nothing experimental about making up specifications you are totally
incapable of building or understanding the ramifications if you actually could.
rgds, sreten.
Power amplifiers are power amplifiers, if you want gain, thats what preamps are for.

- insanely extreme high gain amplifier?
