ins and outs .

I have a question about my Cambridge audio 540r v2... I have never posted here before but it thought it would be the place for the best answer?



If you plug a line level input into the pre amp out on the back of the amplifier the signal is passed through to the corresponding speaker output channel.


One of the channels is currently redundant at the minute and I am thinking of feeding the subwoofer line out into the redundant channel pre amp in. using it as a mono channel to drive a passive subwoofer.



Will this damage any part of the amplifier ??

Is this a stereo integrated amp we are talking about? or a multichannel amp (eg 5.1 etc) ?

its a 6.1 ch surround amp. i tried it and it doesnt seem to work. it output a sound when fed with an external input but at a lower level.
oh well.
