Well I've been using an old Heathkit O-10 to do some realy simple test. I bought a used Tek D-10 but it doesn't work, trace is all screwed up.

So i figure rather than waste money on it, i'd look into buying a new one. I've been looking at the B&K 2534 or the 2540. Have any of you used one? Do you like it? I'd like to use it for testing my home brew amps, and also homebrew AM BCB and SW radios, as well as in an auto motive shop setting, testing PWM circuits. The B&K seem to give a person the best bang for the buck, or if some one has a USB based scope they can highly recomend. I'd like to be 40MHz or higher.

Thanks
Jeremy

Too bad you are in Colorado. I could probably fix that unit easily.

Basically you aren't getting a horizontal signal to the CRT. Check the potentials and the amplifiers to see what's going on. Put the thing in free running mode and see if that gets it started.
