Input buffer on ucd modules

Is there any benefit of having the input buffer wired as an instrumentation amplifier like on the UcD modules ?

If so, then what is the benefit ?

The only thing i can see right off the bat is that it isolates the amp section from the outside world as in letting less switching residuals out on the audio input and allow a higher impedance input.
