InFocus with a hotspot

I recently got a discarded InFocus 290 projector from work. It worked with the exception of some broken traces on the blue LCD ribbon cable. I followed the Tut I found in this forum and soldered the traces back.

There now appears to be a yellowish discoloration in the center of the projected image, which I understand to be a hotspot, perhaps on the blue LCD ( I have dissambled the unit but cannot visually confirm this).

My question is: Is this repairable without replacing the LCD? Should I look further back in the light path for this hotspot or is it strictly LCD related?

Thanks for the help,

I pulled the lamp out lastnight and its never been touched.
It doesn't even have any dust on it.
When I had the lens/LCD assembly out I couldn't see anything on the LCD itself.
Unfortunately, it looks like someone peed right in the middle of the projected image. Perhaps I should yank the lamp and eBay the lamp and projector to help finance another projector. 🙁
