I got an Infocus TVT3000 panel off eBay which didnt come with any cables or anything. I have made a powersupply and a vga cable for it and it works well. My question though is to do with the colours. I have read that this panel has 2 million colours. When I watch movies through my laptop on it though it appears as if it is in 256 colours mode. Is there any way to change this on the panel? Do i need a remote to do this as the panel didnt come with one?
I tried searching but couldnt find any info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well i tried powerstrip and i couldnt work out how to use it properly but i did fix the problem anyway.
the monitor on the laptop was set as the main monitor and the projector was set as an extension of the monitor if that makes sense. so you could keep dragging the mouse up above the laptop screen onto the projector screen. anyway i just made the projector the main monitor and the colours came out beautifully. i dont really know why they didnt work the other way but i am happier with the way it works now anyway.

the panel should have a remote , however if you don't have it , it shouldn't be a problem. There is a option on the remote to set the color palette to 256 colors, however when you power up the panel it is in true color mode.
Maybe there is something wrong with the cable , try to project a blue screen , a red one and green one, (would be best if they all are shaded)if one of these colors won't work, then you have to check your cable.
third possebility is :have you tested it on a projector, or just with a lamp behind it ? If you test it with a lamp behind it , you won't see all the colors (probably has to do with the viewing angle,first i was very dissapointed about the panel when i saw it only with a lamp behind it , but on a OHP it performs perfect)

Hi,
I just got one of these panels via Ebay, can anyone tell me if it needs to be plugged into a video card to get an image or will it display a menu or something without being plugged in?
Currently it powers up with the fan running but nothing else happens.
The buttons do nothing..
