Hello, I'm very new to this kind of thing and have recently been given an Infocus panelbook 450. Does anyone have any information about this model or perhaps a users guide?
Thanks

Infocus Panelbook 450
Hi,
I am new to this also - been reading these great posts here for a while.
I also have the same LCD panel (x2) - just got them from Ebay with no cables. I found a little info on this model here at this link:
http://members.cox.net/rolm/results.html
It supposedly can display 1.4 million colors. Passive matrix. And I believe I saw a review somewhere on the web that sais it's great if you "don't need full motion video". That got me a little nervous, since I read that after I got the panels!!
Anyway, keep searching (I will do the same), and any info I find I will post right here for ya.

OK, so I'll cut my losses. I hear ya, Mustafa.
Tell me a little more about your "nView DiaMonD D-400 DLP Video Projector (640X480) - $104"
Is there a prominent screen door effect? What if you keep the image smaller, like 50in. ?
PJ Bulb - $90:
A bit pricey, but still not too bad.
It was DOA. I will tell you though with a 640X480 Nview Viewframe Spectra C panel I had a 7.5 foot image with no screen door. I have also tried the
nview viewframe tft
nview viewframe spectra plus
and they all work well.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep my eyes open.
Those Infocus Panelbook 450 units: - I called the company, they sent me to the projector doctor (www.projectordoctor.com) for the cables and they were actually in stock. If that place had those antique cables, then they should have everything. If it is not on the website, give them a call - they might still have what you are looking for. Anyway, The data cable was $39 and to get power to the silly thing was $50. So I am trashing those panels (they are passive matrix and won't work anyway), and moving on.
All told, I lost $40 including the shipping. Not too bad, but not good either.
Thanks for the input - I'll be searching for another panel.

Yes I already tried www.projectordoctor.com which even listed a 'User's Guide' to the 450 panel in their acessories dept (for $25) but I emailed and they said they didn't have any info on that panel. I only want to use it for computer presentations and not necessarily for moving images. I just want to know how to get the best out of it (which I realise may not be much!!!). I have all the necessary cables and even a remote control!
OK. I guess all you need now is a good overhead projector. I am new to that area as well, but if you snoop around these threads there are good guides and personal experiences that would help you choose one if you still need it. I wish you the best of luck...
PS. If you know anybody that wants 2 more Panelbook 450's, let me know!! lol
