Info about Avalon clone project

I like the speakers and obviously the eidilion clones were hard work

but I personally didn't like the sound of those speakers. the Eidilion diamonds that is

I was severally disappointed in them, though they look great... so I did something to copy their looks but IMO offer up a whole new world of sound quality above it (My personal tastes)

not downing the work of those DIYer's wanting to clone the eidilions or improve upon them... in fact I think it's pretty easy to best them and keep the pretty box 🙂

In the Netherlands and other european countries you will be rerouted to a local dealer and have to pay the full price. It seems that Rolph is making money on the side to sell drivers to the rest of the world.

Frank, I noticed this thread re: AVALON ASCENT filters...I recently found a set of Ascent clones, with the proper MB quart mid dome and tweeter, and Eton 11" woofer, in 2" thick MDF cabs...!?!?but no crossovers..I do not know what the deal si or rather why they are unfinished, but the filter schematic would be extremely useful. let me know if you still have those images on file. thanks, chris
