Aaah sorry Midrange
your from UK heavy taxes involved .
In that context yes it’s alot more
then Cat cables but in the context of
sound reproduction it’s return outweighs
that extra cost
I will give it a go sometime.
Frugal is good if you dont make demands out the the system
but if one is chasing for improvements in the system & learning
while your at it then inevitably expenses comes into play

It won’t go to waste Midrange that I can assure
you. Also try to get hold of the microphone cables
as well. Whats nice about this combo is the realism
it brings out & it’s very even from top to bottom

Hi Bonjonno
I’ve got a very cheap trick for you guys to try.
Be it stand mount or floor standing speakers,
raise the cabinet up by at least 3 inches using
wood blocks. Sit back & listen, dont worry about
tweeter height. Bass will go deeper , sound will
be more enveloping & speakers will sound more

Back to the original intention of this thread: some IKEA stuff, like cork mats, bamboo cutting boards, plastic bowls, small wooden boxes may find a better purpose in audio. It has been discussed at other places here.
I found a cheap as in free upgrade while listening to my setup. Whenever I stand to flip the record there's this sweet spot I've been missing. I made my own speakers and there set up to listen off axis. I took a couple of wood blocks and use them to tip the speakers more towards on axis. Nice improvement.

Not only are you off topic, you spout the same nonsense as the cable threads. If you want people to believe your delusions go to a cable thread, and stop ruining this one.

Enough Gentlemen. Return to topic or risk riding the pine. Bring any concerns to the Mod's attention.

I reuse mains power transformers from old electronics. This is often one of the most expensive elements of a diy project. Also, building external PSUs saves time and money and can improve performance. I have one with a 500VA 18+18V transformer, dual bridge rectifiers and 80000uF per side. I tie the two sides to ground via an external heavy solid core wire so I can easily switch from +/-24V (for Pass type Class-A amps etc) to single/dual +24V (for small class-d amps etc.). I only tend to listen to one amp at a time, so can build them without internal PSUs to reduce cost, build time and size.
I found one of these used on the bay (at a price WAY, WAY lower). It's become one of my favorite tools. Strips any wire insulation, including TFE, like a dream.
yeah that's a good one, found a few affordables on chinabay.
Nearly 300 $£€ for such a crude piece of tech is a bit...

And a few other places as well - or if not fully sanctioned for the tax revenue, then not as aggressively persecuted as in the past
Note that while smoking is a very efficient method for delivery of active ingredients to the bloodstream, I don't think the human respiratory system was designed for the hot gases and numerous combustion byproducts thereof. And I'm not sure that it's been proven that, aside from explosions of the devices themselves, that Vaping is not without its own long term risks. OTOH, a nice brownie, lollipop or gummy is about as safe as any other confection / relaxation substance, provided consumed in responsible quantities.
