yeah, but excellent for me not throwing a samsung syncmaster lcd tv/monitor through the window because in their infinite brilliance they use a nasa quality foil paper and adhesive in godly amounts to secure nanometer thin circuit flaps hidden on the side of the lcd panel to the back of the backlight.

what is the contrast ratio on all the projection lcd panels made for OHP's?

The NEC 1530V has a HORRIBLE contrast ratio ... 200:1... Not exactly "excellent" for our projectors.

umm, i just read that the Sharp QA 2500 which DIY lcd projector builders are paying over 350 dollars for on ebay have a contrast of 100:1 or maybe 150....

so please expaint to me what it matters for a projector project?

The higher the contrast ratio , the better the projection. Plain and simple.

Want to know why ? Look it up. That's part of the DIY fun, researching things so you can build the best possible projector. Or you could just go on believing what you want. I don't really care.
