Have you also tried it with MUR820s?peranders said:Today I have listened to a Gainclone for the first time ever.
With MUR3020 diodes
I find the MUR3020 overkill for this application, and it is also 40% slower(not that I'll hear this, but there, just a specification)
I have only tried which are on the picture. A simple explantions is that I have a couple of MUR3020's.
Lot's of tweak potential.

Well, I went for MUR820, sice it was 3.5 times cheaper(0.48 vs 1.70 eur).
I won't be able to compare them, but maybe somebody will be and will share with us their finds.

so, are they there?peranders said:The pcs' will turn up 17th or 18th of November 🙂
In the end I got 2 x 160VA 2x24V because the 250VA were out of stock.
Would there have been any sonical advantages by using the 250VA instead of the 160VA(same voltage for secondaries)?

160 VA will work fins since you are going to feed only one channel. Even 100 VA would do.
All pcb's will leave Sweden 19th November 19.00, today except for sprawl which pcb's will be posted Saturday 20th.
I will send an email to you all also.
Good luck to you all and remember this is a monoblock which requires one transformer per pcb (per channel).

got the boards today... thanks!
very happy to see that my elna 4700uF/80V can be used with your boards 🙂

If was fast!
Don't forget to give reports later because I think some people might be interested in your findings.

To roibm : Isn't 80 volts too high for GC ? 😉 Let this caps for some next project and use ones with lover voltage. App. the same mechanical size have 15 G / 40 V, made by Kendeil - I have with this type best experience.
I think it is better to use higher volage caps when available(faster response?).Upupa Epops said:To roibm : Isn't 80 volts too high for GC ? 😉 Let this caps for some next project and use ones with lover voltage. Beside I have enough of them, got a very good deal(1.25Eur/pc) so why not?
Then another reason: those are my only 4700uF over 25V 😉Upupa Epops said:Price is nice. But usable voltage talk nothing about " speed " of condenser. 😉
There are some people who say the higher voltage caps are "faster". I can't confirm since I never tested. So all we need is some guys who say they are faster and some more who say they are not and then, maybe somebody will test it(if they don't start fighting before).
