What should I do?

Spend a month or two properly studying power inductor design (and class D applications)?
Revert to less problematic class A, B amplifiers?
Ask Saint Eva for help?

Try 10 turns of 1.6mm thick wire on a T106-2 core.
Mine barely gets warm.
