inductor calculator

I have come across an inductor calculator for the zobel network on this forum way back. Life is always like that, when you don't need it, it's flashing up here and there, but when you need it, it's nowhere to be found. Does anyone remember where to find it?
Tks.

Hi guys,

I want a 7uH coil so I punched in the #s.

It says 40.05 cm, it's cm not mm. Am I using the calculator correctly? Or am I just so dumn?

I am actually try to make a coil for the quad 303. Could it be that it is not a air coil?

Here is the calculator

The length will be reduced if you increase the diameter of the coil( because the inductance is proportional to the product L*d) and if you have little spacing between turns.
For 20 mm diameter and spacing of 0.5 mm i get 6 cm length

Hi,

Intervals between turns is the distance centre to cnetre between each turn which cannot be less than the wire diamenter, right?
If the intervals is edge to edge of each turn, then it can be zero.

Even if I plug into 10mm for coil dia. 1.3mm for wire dia. and 0 for gap distance. I still got 10cm, that is still unreasonable.

Just wondering how it is done in quad 303 .

Interval between turns seems to be the distance between the edges of each turn. So if it is a close wound coil the distance is '0'.
Try 'several layers' selection on top. You will get a two layer answer with length of your choice ( 25mm? ).
