hello, my lcd is bright enough for all applications, but when i watch films, everything is really dark because i cant adjust the brightness of the "graphics overlay mode" that is used for avi and video.
my radeon has overlay brightness controls but i cant seem to activate any, does anyone know a way or a video player with brighness levels?
thanks!

try to right-click while the movie plays, select "properties" and check if you can change any options from there.
a better option is to download ffdshow:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow
it's a decoding filter allowing you to change options for all codecs at once. Just enable "picture properties" to change luminance gain or offset values.
hope this helps.

you actually don't want to increase your brightness. You should change the gamma settings. It has the same result, but black remains black, instead of turning into grey.
