In search of DDR

Hey There!

It's been a decade since I built my last speakers and I've decided this is the year for an upgrade. I currently have a set of MA Alpair 6P in small BR boxes supplemented by a separate powered subwoofer below ~80hz. I love how revealing these are. These are more than enough to fill my listening room so I'm not necessarily looking for a larger driver. What I am looking for is an increase in DDR and detail and possibly better soundstage/imaging, but DDR above all else. Which drivers should I be looking at?

The A6p can be improved, DDR-wise, at least a little bit with a fairly simple mod. More work to wring even more, but possible.

I am currently (very slowly) working on a triple A6p loudspeaker.

As to a new one with more out of the box (but after break-in), possible candidates include A5.3/7.3/P7HD/A7ms/

Are those new drivers in any particular order?

Does the MAOP 7 offer anything over the others that it would be worth considering?

Are the larger 10cm drivers a step down in DDR?

I usually don’t mention them bu tif you can handle the cost, MAOP represents the best of. There is also a MAOP 5.

I have a set of MAOP 7 going into my favourite WAW.

DDR is still there, only now it's part of Germany.
