Hi forum.
Im about to become the new owner of a 99 Ford Econovan (mazda E2000)
i currently have a basic audio system, AlpineE 4inch coax in the dash, nice adjustable pioneer headunit, of which the rear output is switched to sub out, and have an LG home theater sub on one channel, and a single pioneer TSW254c in a small sealed box on the other channel.
to fill you in, i had a Jeep where i was going to fit it similarly for DJing from the vehicles audio system.
Jeep is now gone, and i have the van. I need as much cargo area as i can keep for transporting my PA system, so as far as bass goes, i have very limited area for a subwoofer/s because i dont want to have to remove it everytime i want to take my PA on a run to a wedding, or dance party.
on hornresp, a 20L sealed box nets me a good fat bass curve from 45-110hz which is quite acceptable for me and would certainly fit in the area i have behind the front seats.
As the current high range drivers in the dash face the windscreen, they already reflect out towards the back of the vehicle, and i want to fit something into the doors for a bit more lower midrange, and so i can have the doors open if/when id be DJing from the system.
what i want to know, will i net more audible bass from behind the vehicle, with the tailgate up with the subwoofers facing the front, rear, or down in their box?
thanks in advance.
