Look Carlos, now you have a new customer due to Peter's recommendation. And you are not even thankful? 😀
Let's enjoy our gainclones and music and stop fighting!

What kind of speakers do you have Carlos. In some other posts I saw you mentioning some Epos speakers is that right ?
I also saw you refering the sound of your Gainclone with a Krell amp, is that the sound your looking for ? Personally I don't like the Krell amps that much, to clinical hifi sound for me but a good choice when you have really difficult speakers.
I'm using a three way open baffle system and use a 8watt 300B SET on my Phy-HP midrange (97 dB SPL) This combination never runs out of power in my listening room, even at disco levels. Why would a GainCard or clone have trouble with that ?

Re: schematics please
Check my thread, at the last pages I post version 3 of the amp.
And on that thread you have also the regulated PSU schematic.
Sorry for all that pollution😀 , just search a little.
The thread is called "High-end Regulated Buffered Inverted GC", or something like this.
A name that didn't please to eveyone...😀
I just hope that the mods clean the thread, so that it can be useful.

Can I have a copy of the schematics of your gc recipe? I promise not to make any money out of it. But I will build 2 units, one for me and one for my brother.
my email is jojod818@yahoo.com
thank you,
JojoD
PS, a detailed parts list will also be appreciated so I can build it as close as possible to your current setup.

It is on my to-do list for when I have the time 😉

Not a customer, I don't sell anything.😉
Just a honest diyer!😎
I agree with you, let's enjoy, why come here and pick fights?
Each one to his own, my schematics are posted, everyone is free to try.
hint:
The most simple tweak to the typical GC:
The regulated PSU, and the output resistors (as on my schematic).😉

I just read an intro piece on the new Linn Klimax 500 (?) which they claim is the best amp they have built yet (got the salt shaker?) -- reading between the lines of the marketing speak, this is what they have done.

Yeh, I saw this about the chakra in BAJ as well. it will be interesting to look at the patent when it comes out.
Re: Re: schematics please
I guess I'm too late...🙁 I can't find the thread where you posted your schematics. Maybe it's still being "cleaned-up".
Well, if your not feeling too lazy, my email is still jojod818@yahoo.com 😀
Cheers!

Yes did read such promo talk 20 years ago … It was a technote about the Quad 405, but without the SM-PSU nick nack. Audio is really re-invented … ??? 😀
😉
Ehm.. JojoD818,
High-End Regulated Buffered Inverted GC

Yes, Epos 11, on my main system.
Sjef said:I also saw you refering the sound of your Gainclone with a Krell amp...
I'm not making direct comparisons.
I mentioned the Krell as an example (actually, a sort of a joke), trying to explain the difference (for the better) in bass quality and ease of drive.
Sjef said:...is that the sound your looking for?
Well... sort of.😀
Sorry, it's late, I can't find this post, only on Dave's post...
Texas?😕

Although a chip-amp, there are so many ways of using it as ways of cooking fish.😀
Don't be surprized if someone tomorrow posts a better amp with LM chips than what we've seen until now.
No problem for me.
What I'm sure is that it's possible to make better than the Gaincard, using LM chips (very good indeed), and better than what's on the datasheets, no matter what fancy components you use with those schematics.

Thank you very much to both of you.
