i have a specific question that i think will probably only be answerable by those working with hdmi- its not a new question- but some information was posted by a engineer on another forum that will effect ALOT of people out there IF TRUE.
as many will know, jitter levels over hdmi are reported as very high (the audiolab in question is measured as 8000ps!!- some companys now make special 'pqls' circuits that nullify the effects to 0.
there is much speculation over the jitter levels of sending the signal as a lpcm or bitstreaming.
the member who works for IAG claims that hdmi is clocked at the reciever/processor end REGARDLESS of the sent method.- making the jitter level of the transport and hdmi irrelevent.
could this realy be true- with all the equipment sold on the basis that you needed to decode in player to reduce jitter???--all lies????😱
