I'm guessing these PSU caps have had it?

Yes thanks for your help guys...

FWIW, I measured the DC offset properly with the inputs shorted, and I got 3.4mV on one channel, and 4.6mV on the other, so all is well. I couldn't find any adjustment pots anyway.

while this may not be enough to burn your speaker's voice coil, you may see your cone move a wee bit outward or inward, that is something to watch out for also....that is why it is important to get your offsets to about a 100mV levels..

READ the thread above to yours Tony.

I suspect he meant mV in that previous post and his offset is FINE. I have NO IDEA where your getting this 100mV level but its important to get as close to Z E R O as possible.

If you feel that 100mV offset doesn't affect sonics I won't argue with you. You continue with your 100mV offset and I'll continue with striving for as close to Z E R O as I can. Have fun :)

100mV is closer to ZERO than 500mV....so i do not see any conflict here..all i am saying is that if you can not get any closer, then 100mV is the watchpoint, over that and i will start checking parts for proper matching...at or below that, i won't bother....

you are correct the ideal is ZERO, i never said it is not, but then we live in an imperfect world...

And 15-20mV is even CLOSER :)

You should go back and re-read the posts carefully starting with this one......

that's good, offsets greater than 100mV should be trimmed...if there is a pot for offest adjustment...

If its adjustable I certainly would not be happy with 100mV's and would look into it at THAT point and not anything over like YOU suggest and stated. Its clear your happy with this magical 100mV number and that is fine..... I simply stated I'm not and wouldn't be with an amp that has the ability to adjust DC offset. FWIW 500mV's is enough for many protection circuits to start kicking in.
