OK, this is just a silly topic for fun.
The other day I was wiring up an amp live when I touched the source output and the amp input. You can guess what happened, yeah?
That's right, music. I became the input cap of the Triapath. Funny! How did I sound? Pretty damn bad, that's for sure. I don't forsee a future career as an audiophile cap. 😉
It's easy to try, just for giggles. See how you sound.
WARNING: If you are using tube (valve) equipment - DONT try this.
You won't sound like much for long...

Playing around with a DMM I recently measured the capacity of my thumb. It was of the order of 50 nF. However the serial resistance is rather high, should be of the order of some ten megaohms......
I think you were more of an 300K or so input resistor 🙂 , Don't 'think' the human body , from 2 points has much capacitance at all, I wonder if fat or other flesh acts in any way as a dielectric tho.
anyone got typical figures?

Your probably right. I measure in at 1.2 meg ohms, hand to hand. And my capacitance meter says 1.1 nF.
So maybe I'm a parallele RC circuit. It's funny to act as a wire, anyhow.

Our TV stuff is years behind yours, but they keep showing this Indian dude who runs mains power through his body, like holding the wire to the frying pan in one hand and the wire to the plug in the other.... weird dude.
Never discount the possibility (probability-to-certainty in this case) that what you're seeing is a trick.
While you're at it, don't try actually sawing a girl in half.

Yikes! I've done it too. But in my case it was 450V in a bank of very large caps that powered a studio strobe. Not fun. There were bumps on one hand and pits on the other were the current went in and out. I liiiike 12 volts now...
depending on where you touch the probes will determine the impedance. i'm between 500k (hand) and 50M (arm). one of my friends measured 17k...
Interesting experiment:
Measure the voltage between your hands (a couple of mV or so), and try 'thinking' it up or down😉

I saw some Mac software once aht you could control with "thought" (bio feedback). It was just moving stuff around on the screen, but it sure felt like "Jedi Mind Tricks!"
What kind of sensor did it use?

Finger tips and temples. Don't know what it measured.
