Instead of being restricted to using the devices that are made and sold by people like Toshiba, what would you design if you could DIY silicon ? I don't mean some kind of super-transistor with specifications that nobody can achieve - Toshiba already make some of the best there are. But perhaps there is a device with 4 terminals or with some other interesting combination of features that makes it suitable for a specialized audio amplifier. What would it be ?
BJT drivers and output devices with diodes insight, very tight matched at some current in terms of thermal coefficients, and very well thermally coupled (diode coupled with power chip)
This will allow us to make an almost perfect class B output stage, the main problem in any power amplifier.

I would go even further than that - a complete output stage with error-correction in a single 4-pin package.roender said:BJT drivers and output devices with diodes insight...
Also, some small-signal MOSFETs optimized for audio, maybe lateral MOSFETs at that.

Neah ... It will be no fun then to build an amplifier with an OPS on a chip

Anne Francis?
