Noob time again...
I'm building a stereo amp with 2 x UCD180 amps and a single SMPS180 power supply and I’m trying to work out what size fuse to install in the IEC connector – in the UK.
Given the amps can draw twice the RMS power from the PSU and they work at around 80% efficiency, and assuming that the PSU is 80% efficient too, that suggests to me that the fuse should be
2 x 2 x 180 / (0.8 x 0.8 x 240), i.e. 5 Amps.
Is that correct? Have I got something very wrong?
Should it be a slow-blow fuse?
