I just got an Aliante 10 for my car sub, so its time to take the IDMAX inside. I'll be feeding it 250WRMS. Here are the specs

Well it might be kind of difficult to use it IB in your home unless you have a nice sturdy wall you want to put a hole in or a huge box. Actually I have seen another guy using an IDMAX in home. I think I saw it on SoundDomain. I want to say he was using it ported? Are you going to be using this for HT or music? The same principles will apply regardless that it is sold as a car audio sub. Actually, I bet the techs at ID would be willing to help you if you give them your goals. If you can't find any use for it, I got $100 😉.
Look up "Gilligans Hitch" on SD.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
it'll be a combination of HT and music. I think I'll maybe go with a large ported box. Whats the best tuning frequency for a home sub?
The specs work out decently for a 2 cubic foot box, sealed.
Qtc = 0.7, (that means pretty good).
A ported box would be great, but would require a 5 cu ft box or so, tuned to about 22 Hz. It will give somewhat deeper bass than a 2 cu ft sealed.
So it all depends on how big a box you can tolerate.
