Identifying scrap components

Is anyone familiar with what a KTA431 might be.

It is a 3 legged TO92 device labelled as an IC.

I thought it might be a TL431 but I'm not sure ?

yes, that's a TL431 equivalent.

YES. In a test circuit it certainly is a TL431.
