I have had this LCD sitting around for months and just tryed the basic Fresnel lens in a housing atached to the front (ala 100" tv egay crap) and got nothing but a blurry spot on the wall. It has a pretty bright backlight but im sure it would have to be taken off to get good results. Its just the bare LCD with the controler on the back. You guys think i should go the ohp route or try somthing else?

There has been alot of discussion for a few weeks now with regards to upgrading a normal LCD backlight, either by replacing the cold cathode flourescent tube with a row of high-emittance LED's or even using custom acryllic optics to funnel light from a larger light source (such as a LOA) into the backlight of an LCD.
I personally would like to try some of these methods, but my LCD doesn't have that type of backlight setup.
