Originally I was going to build my own screen, but because of where I need to place it, it will be in front of a door so I will need it to be retractable. So now I have to decide what type of screen I want. The screen size that I'm looking at has three different types.
I'm looking at Da-Lite screens and there is:
Matte White
1.0 gain
Glass Beaded
2.5 gain
Video Spectra
1.5 gain
Which one is likely to give the best results for what we are doing? I'm also going to be projecting in a room that will be fairly dark, but has white walls, a white ceiling and a light tan carpet, if that makes any difference. I'm leaning toward the 1.0 gain because it will reflect the most light and make the brightest image. Am I wrong in thinking that way? Any input would be great!!!
Thanks,
Jason

gain
Jason.
The higher the # the more light is reflected back.
More accuratly, more light will be reflected back twards the projector. And with increased gain the viewing angle decreases.
My oppinion is that the 1.5 gain screen is best for what you described because it gives you more reflection but doesn't sacrifice too much viewing angle.
