Planet audio has the specs for a single box...
Ported Dimensions:
Length (L) : 14”
Width (W) : 12”
Height (H) : 12.75”
Port: 11.25” x 1” x 22”
Port Extension: 10.125”
Port Tuning: 40 Hz
Following the measurements the opening leading to the port is only 3/4" and the port is 1". This seems off so I would like to use WinISD to come up with a design but I can't find the electro-mechanical measurements anywhere. Is there any decent 600w 8" subs in the $50 price range?

Sorry, don't keep up with currently available drivers of any size/type.
Hmm, being a mobile audio woofer/cab alignment, the vent is often designed to limit [choke] peak power handling down around/at tuning, so if for a HIFI/HT app, definitely want a different alignment ideally using measured specs of your drivers, but the published specs are better than nothing, which are often in the owner's manual and not always complete, such as these, though recent versions of WinISD will calc driver area [Sd], but need a phase plot to calc inductance [Le]: https://planetaudio.com/manuals/AC8D_EN_UM.PDF
What's your app? Details if not mobile audio?

I can't tell from the incomplete specs what to do. You will have to measure the drivers or get the full specs before we can look at that like GM said. And at the price point you say i don't think you will find any quality subwoofer for that. Subs are expensive to make right, and will cost more.
I went in a totally different direction (a single Resilient RS-10) but I wanted to thank you guys for your input.

It looks like a cheap carwoofer on first sight, but the specs are indeed quiet decent for that price and especially for a car woofer.
I will let you guys know how it worked out, however I am considering another change, but I'll discuss that in the other thread I started about efficiency.
- Home
- Loudspeakers
- Subwoofers
- I'd like to build sub using three AC8D's, should I build a sealed sub if I don't have a detailed plan for a triple box
