You can speculate as much as you want, but until you have both amps next to each other and listen to them you will never know for sure. I never cared for the sound of the early Hypex, and most TI based amps sounded flat to me. The boards Eric sells are discrete sigma delta and sound much more dynamic. At $59 are they a giant killer - I doubt it, but to me they sound better than most $500+ commercial amps I have heard.

Thank you Bill.
But I cannot understand how to make an amplifier from them. I'm not a professional as you.
I asked if they sell a build amplifier but they say no...
Can you help me with that?

There's something I don't understand about these types of posts...When you bought such expensive speakers you probably made a decision after listening to them somewhere in a setup. What amplifier , signal source and room size did they use to make your wallet open?
Unless you bought them very cheap expecting to find a similarly cheap amp able to perform in a similarly sized cheap room....
At least I know I'm the cheap guy having cheap expectations from a cheap buy...
If you'd offer me those speakers for free I'd take them only to sell them becausd I know I can't afford the room size and treatment for them...If you only read the Stereophile review you're paralized by the multitude of problems you migt get into with these speakers in the wrong room.
I have frind who stuffed some b&w a804 in a 3 m /4m / 2.5 m room and he wonders why he can't make them sound well with the most powerful and expensive amplifiers Rotel ever made, let alone the fact that the room is half full with other things like bed, tables chairs, wardrobe...I can understad he got thrm for cheap enough, but these are not speakers made for a guy living in an eastern european block apartment ...they are made for millionaires that can afford big houses, 40...100 k$ audio amplifiers. If you're one of those guys you don't need diyaudio to tell you what to buy...There are many places for you to get proper advice for your room and wallet size .But again...these types of speakers are made for the rich and expensive advice...

Hi.
I bought them after I heard them with Denon 8500 which I have.
After a while, I felt that it's not enough for me so I bought a Denafrips Thallo amplifier.
Then I bought the Denafrips Hestia preamplifier.
I'm not rich neither poor but I think that I spent nice money in my setup.
After I changed my SMSL M400 dac to the Gustard R26, I felt that something is missing, so I'm thinking about a Class D amp.
I can buy the Boxem for 1450EUR but I'm afraid to throw more money to the garbage.
I also bought the Mano MK2 streamer for 900 Eur. This was a very stupid thing that I did.

Well...I can have only one advice that works for you: buy the most expensive Putify amplifiers cause they are made for your type of market. If they don't work, nothing in the class D realm works. Most probably a class A or 80's AB would be better, but for that you need even more experience and probably an equal amout of money if not more to get it right.
You just bought yourself a problem with those speakers, but you're the answer looking for the question...They sound as good as your wallet is...

It's strange because I heard a lot of speakers in the store and for me the Paradigm sounded more rounded, with more details, balanced and open.
But maybe you're right and my hears changed over time.
Thanks.
If you allow me, let me give you a piece of advice that might help you a lot.If you can check if the amp works, as you're from Italy buy this:
https://www.subito.it/audio-video/kenwood-ka-1000-amplificatore-vintage-hi-end-udine-431703348.htm
Don't recap it before you listen to it with all 4 wires connected to every speaker.
350 euros is not much but this particular 1980 amplifier if wisely recapped beat any audio amplifier in the range up to at least 40 000 pounds and i'm not joking cause I had it compared with the best amps on the market .I never heard a more neutral amplifier in my life. This is not your tipical amplifier .It doesn't do biamping either, but it uses 4 wires on one speaker.
https://www.hifi-classic.net/review/kenwood-ka-1000-263.html
There are better amplifiers of this sort than this from kenwood but they can be sourced only from Japan for 2...4k$

This is a good idea.
I will try to check it out.
I'm from Israel, not Italy unfortunately, but I will check if I can find something like that here.
Thanks.
Well then source that amp from ebay from anywhere you trust it...I'm from Israel, not Italy unfortunately,
The better amps are kenwood l-08M ,kewood l-06M and kenwood l-02A.
If you ever source any of them and especially kenwood l-02A i can tell you for sure 100% that amp can drive anything up to 170 watts so that you can write better and more trustful reviews that what Stereophile ever wrote.
They all use the 4 wiring system to controll the bass speaker.Kenwood l-02A also has the best phono preamplifier ever made in my humble opinion.

Thank you for your kind information. I don't know how to connect 4 wires. Are you talking about B-Amp?Well then source that amp from ebay from anywhere you trust it...

I will check my details. Don't know why it's written Italy instead of Israel.
No biamp. All 4 wires get connected to the same 2 inputs of the speakers .It's not something easy to explain if you don't know Ken Ishigawa sigma drive system.Just trust it cause it works.

And this is the Japanese version of ka1000 without sigma drive, but it doesn't need any sigma drive. It has a damping factor of 1000 without it:

I'm a strong supporter of 1980's kenwood amps from the L series not just because they were made by the same guys who designed all the famous Accuphase amps, but because their measurements are outstanding even for today.I had a 30 years old ka-1000 in 2012...Sold it for food money.Never found anything more neutral and that was the cheapest version with sigma drive...Can't even imagine the other beasts.

The prices are high and they are obviously not balanced amplifiers.
I will try to check here is someone can find them because to pay 2500 USD + 900 Shipping and taxes it's way too much for testing.
But you brought me an excellent idea!
I must check it.
I remember as a child that I heard a NAD amplifier on a record store that shocked me.
But I was 12 years old and maybe I'm biased...
Most of the amplifiers you showed me don't ship to Israel unfortunately. No biamp. All 4 wires get connected to the same 2 inputs of the speakers .It's not something easy to explain if you don't know Ken Ishigawa sigma drive system.Just trust it cause it works.

Start with the cheapest one .Just keep in mind these series and look for them when you see them for cheap.I have to tell you one thing. They are neutral as hell...Nothing wrong in the sound, but they don't add anything you can hear to it, nothing like tubes, no pleasant distortion...no distortion at all that you can hear and they were also tested in one of the best mesurement setup directly on speakers from Bruel &Kjaer because they needed to buy the patent from Ishigawa and Ishigawa sold it to Toshiba as well(some of the Aurex amplifiers). The rest is just pure design skills from the Accuphase guys and the use of the best transistors ever made for audio.Unfortunately they don't make 80 Mhz ft transistors anymore...If they have a problem you need to buy another amp using those transistors.
Only Yamaha used in two models better 90 Mhz transistors and I tell everyone to avoid buying any of those yamaha if they were repaired cause there is no other source for those transistors.

From the picture the guy put these seems the restoration might have been Ok, but I'd ask him to give me the old components too for that kind of money With kenwood l-02A is easy to track back the restoration process because there's a known japanese full restoration with pictures of every single pcb .
Ask for a movie, not a photo with the transistors on the heatsink because it's user accessible.
There's one picture where I see more brown paralleled capacitors probably used to replace a bipolar coupling capacitor and that's a beginner's mistake. That can be fixed back easily, but needs to be adressed during price negociation at least with clear pictures. The Epcos caps are probably the best choice as they are also pretty expensive.

I envy your knowledge so much. I wish I know more about that.
I called a friend of mine to find me old amplifiers.
If it's ok from your side, I will let you know and I will ask your advice.
I can pay you for your time.
Thank you!!!
I don't like that he reworked what it looks like the phono preamp board in the closeup with the paralleled "flower like" brown caps and also replaced the original tripots with the multiturn blue ones .not necessarily a bad thing but why do it?It's dangerous to rework that part in the sources of those very rare j fets.
I'm not a geniuous, I just studied the L series amps like the holly scriptures...the last picture is the original phono preamp pcb found at the right side of that amp .
